This is a live oak growing up around a Cabbage Palm. John explained that this would not happen on its own, that someone would have to cause this to happen, probably as an experiment.
These are Southern Magnolia seed pods.
These are the Dungeness Ruins and wild horses that live on the island. The ruins are off limits. They are now inhabited by the Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake. (They don't like visitors!)
This is the Recreation Building where the boys would have stayed. It was very state-of-the-art at the time. They even had an indoor pool.
This was Johnathan's favorite of our outing to the Dungeness Ruins. These are Fiddler Crabs.
